Setting Up MFA in ThreoAI

How to set up and manage multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your ThreoAI account — configure email or authenticator app verification to secure your login.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also called two-factor authentication (2FA), adds a second layer of security to your ThreoAI account. After entering your password, you’ll be asked to verify your identity with a one-time code before gaining access.

ThreoAI supports two MFA methods:

  • Email — A verification code is sent to your registered email address each time you log in
  • Authenticator App — A time-based code generated by an app on your phone (such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator)

MFA is configured during account setup after you accept your invitation. You will be prompted to choose a method and complete enrollment before your first login.

  1. Select Email as your 2FA method
  2. A verification code will be sent to your registered email address
  3. Enter the code to confirm setup
  4. On future logins, a new code will be emailed to you each time
  1. Select App as your 2FA method
  2. A QR code is displayed on screen
  3. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or similar) and scan the QR code
  4. Enter the 6-digit code shown in the app to confirm enrollment
  5. On future logins, open the app and enter the current code when prompted

Tip: Authenticator app codes refresh every 30 seconds. If your code doesn’t work, wait for the next one and try again.


You can switch between Email and App MFA at any time from your Profile Settings.

  1. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner and select Profile, or navigate directly to https://threo.synthreo.ai/#/profile
  2. Scroll to the 2FA Method section (on the main Profile page, above the tabs)
  3. Select Email or App from the dropdown
  4. If switching to App, scan the QR code shown with your authenticator app and confirm with a code
  5. Click Save to apply the change

Changes take effect on your next login.


Not receiving email codes?

  • Check your spam or junk folder
  • Confirm your registered email address is correct in your profile
  • Contact your ThreoAI administrator if the issue persists

Authenticator app code not working?

  • Ensure your phone’s clock is set to automatic/network time — authenticator apps require accurate time sync
  • Wait for the code to refresh (codes cycle every 30 seconds) and try again
  • If you’ve lost access to your authenticator app, contact your ThreoAI administrator to reset MFA on your account
