ThreoAI Studio Overview
Studio in ThreoAI - the hub where you build Experts, Connectors, and Projects, plus run Builder Agents, then use them across chat and the catalog.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Studio is where you create the building blocks. Once they exist, they show up across chat, projects, and the explore catalog.
Open Studio from the left sidebar. There are five tabs: Overview, Experts, Agents, Connectors, and Projects. You never have to open Studio to chat. Go there when you want to make something you will reuse - an Expert, a connected app, a project - and then pull it into a conversation later.

The building blocks
Section titled “The building blocks”Each tab covers one kind of building block.
| Tab | What you build | Where it shows up |
|---|---|---|
| Experts | A reusable assistant with its own instructions, training docs, and actions | Any chat, plus the catalog |
| Agents | Builder agents you can run from chat | The chat composer |
| Connectors | External apps and data brought into chat over MCP | Any chat, and inside Experts |
| Projects | A home for related conversations and shared context | The sidebar and chat |
Experts
Section titled “Experts”Wrap a system prompt, training docs, and tools into a reusable Expert you can drop into any chat. Set one up once, hand it to your team, and pick it when you start a conversation.
See Creating an Expert to build one.
Agents
Section titled “Agents”Run autonomous Builder agents from chat - tools, plans, and multi-step workflows shared with you. Agents are built in Builder, not here. The Agents tab just lists the ones shared with you so you can kick them off from a chat.
For how agents and workflows get built, see Welcome to Builder.
Connectors
Section titled “Connectors”Bring external systems into chat through MCP - search, calendars, ticketing, internal APIs. Connect an app once and chat can look things up in it and act on your behalf.
Your organization turns Connectors on, so the tab may not show for everyone. See Connectors for the walkthrough.
Projects
Section titled “Projects”Group related conversations and shared context together so a thread of work has memory across chats. One project holds the files and history for one effort.
See ThreoAI Projects to set one up.
How building blocks reach chat
Section titled “How building blocks reach chat”Nothing you build in Studio stays stuck there. Save an Expert and it lands in your My Experts list, then in the catalog once you share it. Add a Connector and chat can use it right away. An Agent someone shares with you turns up in the composer. Projects gather the chats that belong to one effort.
Build it once. Use it anywhere you chat.
Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”Where do I find Studio in ThreoAI? Open Studio from the left sidebar. It has five tabs: Overview, Experts, Agents, Connectors, and Projects.
Do I have to use Studio to start a chat? No. Studio is for building reusable pieces. You can chat without ever opening it, and anything you build there is ready when you want it.
Why is the Connectors tab missing? Connectors are gated by a feature your organization turns on. If the tab is not there, the feature is not enabled for your company yet. Ask your administrator.
Are Agents the same as Experts? No. Experts are assistants you configure in Studio. Agents are Builder workflows shared with you and run from chat. The Agents tab lists the ones you can start.
