Using a Custom GPT in ThreoAI
How to find and use a Custom GPT in ThreoAI — open a GPT from your list or the Marketplace, use conversation starters, and get the best results.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Custom GPTs are AI assistants built with a specific purpose, persona, and knowledge base. They behave like a regular ThreoAI chat but are tuned to a particular role — such as a policy assistant, IT support helper, or document reviewer. You can use GPTs you’ve created yourself or ones shared with you by your organization.
Finding a Custom GPT

- In the left sidebar, click My GPTs at the bottom of the My GPTs section (or navigate to
#/my-gpts) - Your GPT list shows all GPTs you’ve created plus any shared with you
- Click a GPT card to open it and start a conversation
From the Marketplace
Section titled “From the Marketplace”GPTs shared organization-wide by your admin appear in the Marketplace alongside AI Agents.
- Click Explore Marketplace in the sidebar (or navigate to
#/marketplace) - Use the Custom GPTs filter tab to browse GPTs only
- Click any GPT card to open it
Starting a Conversation with a GPT

When you open a Custom GPT:
- The GPT’s name and icon appear at the top of the chat
- Any Conversation Starters configured by the GPT’s creator appear as suggested prompts — click one to send it immediately, or type your own message
- The GPT responds according to its custom instructions, persona, and knowledge base
Getting the Best Results
Section titled “Getting the Best Results”Custom GPTs are designed for specific use cases. To get the most accurate and useful responses:
- Use the conversation starters if they’re present — they’re designed to show you what the GPT does best
- Stay on topic — a GPT built for HR policy questions will perform best when asked HR-related questions
- Provide context — if the GPT has a knowledge base, reference specific documents or topics: “Based on the onboarding guide, what is the process for requesting equipment?”
- Attach files — you can still attach files to GPT conversations the same way you would in a regular chat
Switching Models Within a GPT Chat
Section titled “Switching Models Within a GPT Chat”The model selector in the top-right still works within a GPT conversation. Switching models will use the GPT’s same custom instructions but with a different underlying AI model — useful if you want to compare how different models interpret the GPT’s persona.
Note: The GPT creator may have set a preferred model in the Advanced tab. Switching models overrides this for your current session only.
