What you'll accomplish
AI Foundations Certified is the starting credential of Synthreo Certified and the prerequisite for AI Expert. It answers one question: can you speak about AI credibly with a customer or colleague? By the end you will understand what large language models are and how they work, why they sometimes make things up and how grounding fixes that, how to write a prompt that actually gets the result you want, the difference between a chat assistant and an agent that takes actions, how to choose a model for a task, and how to handle data safely. This is vendor-neutral knowledge: it applies to any AI tool you use. You finish by attesting to the practice work and passing the online exam (80% or higher).
What you'll need
- Access to any AI chat tool so you can try the practice tasks. ThreoAI at https://threo.synthreo.ai works well if your organization provides it, but any general AI chat tool is fine for the reflective exercises.
- About 1 to 2 hours, best spread over a couple of sittings so each concept has time to land.
- A certification account (included in your Synthreo licensing or partnership) if you want progress synced across devices and the exam unlocked.
Work the stages in order. Each one is a short plain-language explainer followed by a task to try in an AI chat tool. Mark the task done and the track checklist below fills in as you go. There are no product docs to read here on purpose: this is general knowledge, so the prose is the lesson.
